With a strong Nor’easter expected to impact Rhode Island in the coming days, we are asking all owners to take a few precautions now to prepare their units and outdoor property.

Our primary concerns for this area are strong winds, heavy rain, falling trees and branches, power outages, and potentially hazardous conditions around the property. Weather conditions and the forecast may change as the storm approaches, so we will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates on our website as necessary.

Please take the following steps as soon as possible:

Secure Your Unit

• Make sure all windows and doors are securely closed and locked.
• Check around windows, doors, and other potential points of water entry and address any concerns before the storm.

Secure or Remove Outdoor Items

Please remove or securely store anything outside that could become loose or airborne during high winds, including:

• Patio furniture and chairs
• Umbrellas
• Grills
• Bicycles
• Planters and decorations
• Trash and recycling containers
• Garden tools and equipment
• Children’s outdoor toys
• Any other loose items on decks or around your unit

Power Outages

• Strong winds and falling trees or branches can result in power outages. Owners should be prepared for the possibility of losing power.
• Consider having flashlights, batteries, portable phone chargers, medications, and other essential supplies readily available.
• Make sure to keep your phones and other devices charged.
• It’s a good idea to have an emergency kit on hand with food, water, medication, and any pet supplies you may need.
• If you encounter a downed wire at any time, assume it’s energized and stay away.
• Do not use a generator in an enclosed area, like a garage, where deadly carbon monoxide fumes could accumulate.

During the Storm

• For everyone’s safety, please avoid unnecessary travel around the property during periods of strong winds, heavy rain, or otherwise hazardous conditions.
• Be particularly cautious around trees and areas where branches or other debris could fall.
• Conditions can change quickly during a significant storm. If conditions become hazardous, please remain indoors whenever possible and follow instructions issued by local and state emergency officials.
• Please also monitor official weather and emergency-management alerts throughout the storm. Wind and power outages may continue after the strongest part of the storm has passed.

The Management Committee will continue monitoring the storm and the condition of the property. We will communicate any additional information or instructions that owners need to know as the storm approaches. Please check our website for updates.

Monday, September 21 and Tuesday, September 22

• Work will include roadway preparation and repair preparation for paving
• All unit owners should plan to enter/exit through the Pheasant Run entrance only. Please limit traffic through the active work areas whenever possible

Thursday, September 24

• Paving of the roadway and all repair areas will take place
• All unit owners, with exception of units 8 Pheasant Run, 10 Pheasant Run and all units on Quail Circle, must use the entrance on Partridge Lane
• Units 8 Pheasant Run, 10 Pheasant Run and all units on Quail Circle may drive through the area during this process, if necessary, but please limit traffic to essential trips only and proceed with caution around the active work area

After Paving

• Once paving is complete, all traffic should enter/exit through the Partridge Lane entrance for at least 24 hours to allow the newly paved surface adequate time to set, with exception of the unit owners listed above
• Those unit owners may use the main entrance; however, we ask that you please limit traffic to essential trips only
